General Dermatology Services

CSCD provides services for a wide range of general dermatologic conditions, including common complaints such as acne, rosacea and eczema.

To learn more about a specific dermatological problem you may be experiencing, please visit the American Academy of Dermatology for more information, including definitions, symptoms and treatment options.

In addition to the general dermatology services mentioned above, CSCD offers a full suite of skin cancer services including screening, mole removal and testing, and Mohs surgery.

Mohs Surgery for Skin Cancer

Mohs micrographic surgery is a specialized, highly effective technique for the removal of skin cancer. Considered the gold standard for removing cancers with a risk of recurrence, Mohs permits the immediate and complete microscopic examination of the removed cancerous tissue, so that all roots and extensions of the cancer can be eliminated. Mohs surgery has been recognized as the skin cancer treatment with the highest reported cure rate.

The CSCD physicians who perform Mohs surgery are certified in the procedure and have specialized skills in dermatology, dermatologic surgery, and dermatopathology. Your Mohs surgeon can provide you with detailed information regarding his or her training in the above disciplines, as well as all applicable professional affiliations.

Typically, Mohs surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure in the physician's office. Although the patient is awake during the entire procedure, discomfort is usually minimal and no greater than it would be for more routine skin cancer surgeries.

If you are interested in learning more about Mohs surgery, please contact our office and we will be happy to answer your questions.
